Chicken Bone Broth Recipe
Here’s one of my go-to recipes for a deeply nourishing chicken bone broth. It’s a great way to make use of leftover roasted chicken bones, providing a low-cost, nutrient-rich addition to your diet.
Ingredients:
-
🐓 Bones from 1 whole roasted chicken (add neck, internal organs, feet, if available)
-
🥕 2-3 carrots and 2-3 celery stalks, roughly chopped
-
🧅 ½ to 1 full onion, peeled and roughly chopped
-
🧄 4 cloves garlic, peeled
-
🌱 1-2 inches ginger root, roughly chopped
-
🌿 2 Tbsp ground turmeric
-
🍎 2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
-
💧 Water (about 8-9 cups, enough to cover all ingredients in your crockpot)
Instructions:
-
Prepare Ingredients: Place all ingredients in a crockpot.
-
Add Water: Pour enough water to fully cover everything.
-
Slow Cook: Set the crockpot on low and cook for 12-24 hours. The longer it cooks, the richer the broth will be!
-
Strain & Store: Once done, strain the broth and store it in the fridge for up to a week or freeze for later use.
